The Real Story Behind Astrology Hub with Amanda Walsh | Backstage Astrology Interview

Listen to the Podcast on YouTube Music!

Episode Summary

In this behind-the-scenes conversation, Amanda Walsh opens up about what most people never see: the spiritual awakening that preceded Astrology Hub, the years of rock bottom that shaped her, and the moment the domain “AstrologyHub” appeared, almost like a doorway.

She shares how she built the platform from one central question: How do we make astrology accessible without making it simplistic, and practical without losing its sacredness? We talk about criticism, leadership initiations, COVID-era responsibility, and the values that helped her keep the community rooted in respect, inclusion, and trust.

Amanda also introduces her upcoming book, Life by the Stars, a deeply personal story paired with astrological “notes” by the astrologer who first read her chart, turning her lived experience into a teaching tool for anyone learning astrology through real life.

Astrological Approach

Amanda’s approach is the “hostess who invites everyone to the party”—creating a platform where many astrological perspectives can coexist without turning into “who’s right/who’s wrong.”

Core pillars (in her words and themes):

  • Astrology as a practical spiritual tool: “How does this help us live better lives?”.

  • A bridge for the astrology-curious: making real astrology accessible without watering it down.

  • Values-led leadership: choosing the frequency a community resonates at.

  • 12th-house attunement to the collective: sharing what she needs—because others likely need it too.

  • Integrity & trust as non-negotiables: keeping the space respectful, especially in polarized times.

Fun Fact

Amanda dances hula by the ocean at sunrise, she calls it “oxygen.” She’s also a proud napper: “I feel like I get two days.”

Journey as an Astrologer

Amanda doesn’t identify as a traditional chart reader, but her journey is absolutely an astrological one:

Key turning points:

  • 2012 (pivotal year): spiritual awakening in Hawaii + full moon labyrinth walks, learning “qualities” like peace, love, harmony from the inside out.

  • 2013–2015: “my entire life falls apart”- divorce, financial rock bottom, identity collapse.

  • 2015: the domain moment – “Astrology Hub” appears, and she instantly says yes.

  • Early years: audio-only summit + interviews; learning to hold criticism and keep going.

  • 2020: astrology as an anchor in crisis – showing up more, offering reassurance, choosing the role she wants to play while the “ship is sinking”.

  • Leadership lesson: values get tested at scale – holding respectful debate without becoming a divide machine.

  • Today: returning to fundamentals – nature, sustainability, joy, clean nourishment, rest, and values-led decisions.

Key Themes & Topics

  • The origin story of Astrology Hub (and the “domain moment”).

  • Holding a platform with integrity during crisis and polarization.

  • Astrology as a universal unifier.

  • The “sweet spot” between “too complex” and “too watered down” astrology.

  • Criticism, visibility, and the early days of interviewing.

  • Business cycles: Jupiter expansion / Saturn contraction.

  • The costly “tech platform” lesson (and how she pivoted with wisdom).

  • Sustainability as a spiritual practice: “What do the trees need?”.

  • Life by the Stars: story + astrology notes as a teaching tool.

  • Bringing astrology out of the head and into the body.

Quotes

  • “Astrology to me is a universal unifier. We are all under the same stars. The stars don’t know divides.”

This is Amanda’s essence. Platform leadership without polarization.

  • “Who do I want to be if the ship is sinking?”

Her Titanic metaphor reframed crisis as identity choice, not survival panic.

  • “If it’s helping me, it’s probably helping someone else.”

Her 12th-house wisdom. Trusting collective resonance.

  • “Marketing is just communicating. It’s just sharing.”

For every astrologer afraid of visibility, this reframes everything.

  • “When I have something I really need, I trust that other people really need that too.”

    Collective attunement. 12th-house leadership.

  • “There is purpose and meaning behind what we’re doing here. This is an incredible time to be alive.”

    Cosmic optimism without bypassing reality.

Listener Takeaways

What I learned from Amanda that stayed with me:

  • Integrity isn’t a brand value you “announce.” It’s a decision you make when it costs you something. And honestly… that hit me. Because it reminded me that the real work happens off-camera—when you choose the frequency you’re willing to hold, even if people disagree with you.
  • Amanda changed the way I think about trust. Trust isn’t built when everything is going well. It’s built in the messy moments: criticism, uncertainty, pressure, and that quiet inner knowing that says, “This is the line I won’t cross.” That stayed with me.

  • I loved her reminder that a platform has a soul. Astrology Hub isn’t just “content.” It’s an entity with a mission—and Amanda keeps coming back to one question: Is this sustainable? Is this true? Is this still alive? As someone building community too, I felt that in my bones.

  • Her “Titanic” metaphor genuinely reframed my relationship with crisis. When the ship feels like it’s sinking, the question becomes: Who do I want to be right now? Amanda chose to “play music and tell stories.” And that reminded me that leadership is not control—it’s presence.

  • What impacted me most is how she protects the sacredness of astrology. Not by gatekeeping—but by refusing to turn it into a battlefield. She holds astrology as a universal unifier: same sky, same tides, same human experience. That’s rare. And it’s powerful.

  • Amanda also gave me permission to honor my own “kuleana.” Just because something is a great idea doesn’t mean it’s my responsibility. The question is: Is it my joy too? That’s a leadership filter I’m taking with me.

  • And lastly—her devotion to the fundamentals reminded me that groundedness is part of the mission. Sleep. Nature. Movement. Breath. The simple things. Because if the messenger isn’t resourced, the message can’t land.

2:30

Hi and welcome back to another episode of Backstage Astrology. And today I’m thrilled to have with me Amanda Walsh

2:37

from Astrology Hub. Amanda, is such a pleasure. How are you today? Oh, I’m so great. Thank you for inviting

2:44

me to the show. This is fun. I’m just I’m grateful that you’re doing this because it’s really it’s really great

2:50

work to be kind of going behind the scenes on the different astrologers and the whole field and I just think it’s

2:57

really cool what you’re doing. So, thank you. No, thank you for being here. I mean, knowing what you do with Astrology

3:03

Hub, I’m sure you have a full agenda. So, for me, you know, it’s such a pleasure to have you here. And I’m sure for our viewers, also a pleasure to get

3:10

to know a little bit more of Amanda behind the scenes, how her life looks like and all the story behind the

3:17

Astrology Hub. Guys, if you don’t know astrology hub, this is one of the biggest astrological platforms and

3:23

communities online. And Amanda, can you actually explain people in a few words? Maybe some people don’t know you here.

3:29

What is astrology hub? I mean the simplest way that I explain

3:34

it when people ask me that question like in the school parking lot if a parent asked me what I do you know. Um I used

3:42

to have an answer that people would kind of look at me like what I I don’t understand. So now the simplest way I say it is it’s an online astrology

3:49

school essentially but I know there’s so much more. You know, the the podcast is

3:54

normally the way that people get introduced to astrology hub. So, we’ve been running an astrology podcast since

4:00

2017, and I interview different astrologers, and we talk all things astrology,

4:06

including technique and tools and approaches, but then also the current astrological weather, what’s happening

4:13

astrologically, and how can we work with it most effectively in our lives. And then those same a lot of the same

4:19

teachers that we feature on the podcast also teach with us either as a part of

4:25

our inner circle membership where we have a different astrologer who guides each month and they teach mastery

4:31

classes, they do forecasts and then also um we have like one-off courses like Rick Lavine who you had on your show.

4:38

He’s teaching he’s taught an entire astrology foundation suite with us level

4:43

one through three and so just it’s really I’ve always thought of astrology hab as a bridge to people who are

4:50

astrologically curious who want to learn the language they’re not necessarily astrologers some of them are but most of

4:56

them are not they’re hobbyists they’re they’re astrology lovers who want to

5:02

learn from the best in the field and so thankfully that’s that’s who we’ve

5:08

gotten to work with over the years and that’s what we’ve been able to build. That’s amazing. And I have to tell the

5:14

story guys because it was very fatal. I was telling Amanda before back in 2020 I

5:20

think I was looking for like an astrological course but organized you know because I took classes here and

5:25

there and like I was all over the place and I’m like okay I need to find a course that you know takes me like stage

5:31

by stage. I have a Capricorn MC maybe I don’t know but like you know like structured and I went into these

5:38

Facebook groups and I see oh a course you know like all the how do you call it

5:43

the syllabus and I went to see and oh Rick Lavine I did know about Rick Levine

5:48

before because of Gaia I think they featured him at some point and I like oh this guy I’ve seen him he looks good you

5:54

know and I went and I asked him or his team I don’t know hey when is this starting and then I realized it already

6:00

like started and the girl or Rick, I don’t know who replied to me, they said, “Oh, you can actually still enroll. We

6:06

just started yesterday.” And I go online and I saw astrology hub and I’m like, “Okay.” And you know, this was my first

6:14

like organized astrology course, foundations one with Rick Lavine. Oh my

6:19

god. And I have to say really, every day, I think somebody already mentioned it, but I felt the same. every day there

6:26

was like or every week there was like a class dropping and I felt like you know like Santa Claus and Christmas like oh

6:31

my god like there is a new class and it was so good and well organized and the

6:37

community and the comments and okay I can talk for hours but I’m really really really grateful

6:42

that I Yes, that’s so great. I’m so glad you had such a good experience and that it

6:48

was you know you got your foundations and you met Rick and and felt welcomed by the community. Yeah, it was amazing.

6:55

And then I took the other one and the other one and so on. And then I, you know, I got hooked with astrology hub.

7:01

And Amanda, can you actually tell us um more about you? Like who or how would

7:07

you like people to know you behind Amanda, the you know, the captain of the

7:13

tribe, let’s say, of this huge community. How would you like people to know you? Really? Wow. You know, it’s so funny. I was

7:20

thinking about this because I I’m a 12th house son. I 12th house sun and Venus in

7:27

Capricorn at the very last degrees of the 12th house 28 and 29. And so I am

7:34

actually much more comfortable in the role you’re playing right now. Like I love to ask people questions and I love

7:40

to like, you know, learn about them. And so I’ve really never thought about like

7:45

how I want others to think about me aside from being the the founder of

7:51

AstrologyHub. Uh, but you know, I’m a mother. I have two daughters, six, uh,

7:56

16. She’s a Libra. She’s going to be 17 soon. And just turned 14. She’s a Virgo.

8:03

And, um, I love dancing. I love hoola. I love uh, I have a a beautiful man in my

8:11

life that I just adore. Um, we have four dogs between us, which is

8:17

it’s kind of like the Brady Bunch of dogs, you know? It’s like two at my house, two at his house, we swap them,

8:22

you know. Um, and I just I love learning. I love growing. I love I love

8:30

the mysteries. I love what we can’t see. I love the influences that the unseen

8:36

realm has on our lives here. And I love the idea of being that that point

8:42

between heaven and earth. And how do we actually bring the celestial qualities,

8:48

the the heavenly realms into this body, into this world by by our presence, by

8:55

the work that we do, by by our actions, you know, it’s it’s that’s all fascinating to me. And that’s why

9:02

starting AstrologyHub was one of the most amazing things. was like, “Oh my god, I just get to have this conversation all day every day,” you

9:08

know, and especially coming from the world that I was in where the conversations weren’t quite as lofty,

9:14

you know, on a daily basis to to really reinvent my life and my

9:19

world and structure it so that I can be in this kind of conversation all the

9:25

time. It has been a total dream come true. So just sharing these these things

9:31

with with people is such a delight for me. It just anytime I see someone like

9:36

you, you know, you’re going through that class and then oh my gosh, there’s there’s these people and there’s this teacher and there’s these topics just

9:44

that the light bulbs going off and the expansion that happens for people. It just it brings me so much joy whether

9:50

it’s through astrology hub or through a conversation with my teenagers or you know in in in an insight that I have

9:58

myself like these are the things that are really juicy and alive for me. It just it brings me so much joy whether

9:50

it’s through astrology hub or through a conversation with my teenagers or you know in in in an insight that I have

9:58

myself like these are the things that are really juicy and alive for me. So I don’t know if that answers your

10:03

question but um yeah

10:09

Well it pretty knows tells tells much about your personality and who you

10:16

are so I think you know we got an answer but I mean if you look back because I know astrology hub it’s been around for

10:21

10 years now. You recently celebrated your 10 years now. So looking back 15

10:27

years and realizing where you were and where you are now, how do you feel about

10:32

it? Because I mean you were in a very different situation from what I’ve heard from previous interviews.

10:39

Well, so that would be 2012. 2012 was a pivotal year, although I

10:46

didn’t know it at the time. So that was essentially the first year that we spent

10:54

in Hawaii after like kind of blowing up my corporate life and my kind of comfy

11:00

reality, my comfort zone in New York City and moving to the big island of

11:05

Hawaii. 2012 was the year that I got invited

11:12

again. I was like Alice in Wonderland. I I didn’t I was I was at the very beginning of my spiritual awakening. I

11:17

was reading really amazing books by like Dr. Joe Despensza and Wayne Dyer and

11:23

Deepo Chopra and you know Louise Haye and so a lot of these ideas were

11:28

conceptual to me, fascinating to me and I was very much in a phase of like but

11:36

is it really true you know and can you actually live your life this way? And you know what what

11:43

what is the reality of these spiritual ideas in practice? You know, so we had

11:48

moved to the big island. I was in the I was in the uh grocery store one day

11:54

and there was this woman probably in her 60s like a a pixie haircut like you know

12:00

cut cropped close to her head but with one of those faces that can pull it off. like she just a she looked like a little

12:06

fairy. And so she I don’t know why I don’t even know how the conversation started, but

12:11

she like looked at me. I had Sophia at the time in a in a Bjorn, you know, at

12:18

my chest. And she goes, “I am running these

12:24

full moon labyrinth walks on my property, and I’m looking for 13 women

12:34

to do this every full moon of 2012.” what would you like to come? And I was like,

12:41

okay, I don’t know what that means, but that sounds kind of cool and intriguing. And

12:47

and and it was like one of those, you know, one of those instinctual yeses. And so I said, “Yes.” And then she goes,

12:54

“And and and Jason, my husband at the time, was there.” And she goes, “And bring your husband. we need 13 men to

13:00

stand sentinel while we walk in the labyrinth. And I was like, “Okay.”

13:06

So, you know, she walks away. She like floats away. It felt like she was floating away. And um you know, she wrote her address down on a piece of

13:12

paper and floats away. And then I then of course all the doubts come in. I’m

13:17

like, “Wait, what did I just sign us up for? Is this like some weird cult? Like what the heck are we doing?” Anyways, we

13:24

end up going and uh she explains to us that the idea of what we’re doing

13:33

because it was such a pivotal 2012 Mayan calendar year that we were going to walk with

13:40

specific qualities in the labyrinth. qualities that we want to seed on the

13:46

planet and that we would walk in the labyrinth with these like holding these qualities.

13:52

When we got to the middle, we were instructed to spin seven times

13:59

clockwise and send the qualities and like imagine that we’re literally sending the qualities out into the

14:07

world. Wow, that’s powerful enough. I know. But I didn’t, you know, and this going it’s her like this is crazy. I’m

14:13

literally fresh off the boat from Manhattan, just like, okay, not in New

14:22

York City anymore. And so anyways, this is what we did. So for all 12, it was 13 all 13 full moons

14:28

of 2012, I walked in this labyrinth with these women with the men standing

14:34

sentinel. It was right on the ocean. The there were tiki torches like the men would stand underneath the tiki torch.

14:42

It was like it was just totally magical. And um so we would walk with things like um

14:49

peace, hope, uh love, creativity,

14:56

beauty, you know, all the things, harmony. Wow. And what I noticed when I walked in this labyrinth is that the walk in like Okay,

15:02

so the first time I walked, I held I I held uh peace. That was what I was like, okay, can’t go wrong with peace. Like

15:10

who who doesn’t want peace, right? So, I’m walking in the labyrinth and what I noticed is that the woman in front of me

15:17

was walking really slow. The the woman, three women ahead of me was like twirling and dancing and I was in so

15:23

much judgment and you know what a showboat she’s showing off. What is she doing? Like why

15:28

is she you know and why is this woman walking so slow and oh my gosh I’m hungry and my feet hurt and can we hurry

15:34

up already? Okay, these are like the self-t talk. Okay. So, I’m walking with this and then

15:42

I go and then it’s like this flash of like that that is the reason why we don’t have

15:48

peace on the planet. What you’re experiencing internally

15:57

is the reason why this is so hard for humans. judgment, lack of presence, lack

16:02

of appreciating and enjoying exactly who we are, where we are, what we’re doing.

16:08

You of course like, you know, kind of being harsh to to other people and and

16:14

assuming that I know why they’re doing what they’re doing, right? All these things are the reason why we don’t have

16:20

peace. And so it was like, oh wow, what what Okay. So then you get to the

16:25

middle, hold the piece, walk out, and it’s an entirely different experience.

16:30

The women are beautiful. The the like I I’m enjoying this the feeling of the

16:37

grass on my feet. I’m noticing the little ladybug like just moving along on its way, you know? And so this is what

16:45

happened every month. Every month I would bring a quality in. Wow. I would get this experience of

16:51

where all the blocks are to that quality both within myself and and in the world.

16:58

You know, we’re all there’s really not that much difference between us, right? And and then I would get to have the

17:03

experience of what it feels like to actually be in that quality on the walk out. And so that’s what I was doing in

17:11

2012 to answer your question. So, wow. I was in the in the beginning of my like

17:16

ast my my astrology wasn’t even in the realm of my awareness yet. I mean that actually

17:22

2012 was also when I had my first astrology reading. So, I’m doing this full moon work, but I

17:27

don’t even know like the the meaning of the full moon or the rhythm of the lunar cycle. None of that means anything to me

17:34

yet. And I’m really just ex having these experiences, having the first reading.

17:41

Again, I’m like Alice in Wonderland just going, “What is going on here?” And I’m so curious about all of this. And I have

17:47

no idea what any of it means. But it’s fascinating. And I feel pulled like just

17:54

deep in my soul. I feel pulled like I am in the right place. I need to be learning about these things.

18:00

That’s to answer your question. What was happening? Wow. Oh my god. Yeah. because in other um interviews I’ve heard that then you

18:06

had your astrology reading and then obviously you got curious and then you mentioned I think in one of the shows or

18:12

or even in the interview with with Don also that you got this domain the astrologyhub.com

18:19

and then can you tell us briefly what happened like how this domain came to you? Well, so this was years later. So

18:24

this didn’t this was not like a backto-back thing. So 2012 I’m doing all this. 2012 I have this astrology

18:31

reading. 2013 through 2015 my entire life falls apart.

18:39

So this is where I end up. So I’m you know it doesn’t have to happen this way. But

18:44

but when we have built a life based upon

18:50

ideas of ourselves and the world that are out of alignment who with who we

18:56

really are deep down. And if who we really are deep down is what we’re

19:01

actually longing for, then the things that are out of

19:07

alignment with that are going to have to either totally transform

19:13

or go away. And so in my case, it was go away. And

19:18

so I found myself in 2013, 2014, 2015

19:26

navigating divorce. Also a very like, you know, it doesn’t

19:32

matter. A fall apart of my marriage to my college sweetheart that I thought I would be married to forever. We have two

19:38

small children. We’re on this island in the middle of the ocean. I don’t know very mean. You

19:44

know, after we after we were on the big island for two years and doing the labyrinth walks and things like that, we moved to Maui. So, and then right when

19:51

we moved to Maui is when everything fell apart like big time. I’m totally almost

19:58

bankrupt financially. Just lose the entire like savings and fortune that I

20:04

had created in New York. All of that gone and then some. So, just really at

20:11

the bottom. I It’s rock bottom. It was my rock bottom moment and it was years of that. So it sounds like when I fast

20:17

forward the story it sounds like you know I got my first reading and then oh yay I start astrology hub. It was like no no no no no no

20:22

years of just deep soul gutwrenching

20:30

you know experiences. 2015 I had met a family. We were we were

20:36

going to the beach every Sunday. And when I first met this man, I had

20:41

this flash of like, I’m going to work with him someday. But it was like one of those that just like came in and out, you know? I was

20:48

like, I’m going to work with him someday. And then just gone. Anyways, he invited me

20:53

to he’s like, you’ve done some online online work before, right? And I had been doing a little bit of a side hustle

21:00

thing in New York for fun before we moved. I was like, yeah, you know, just some dabbled here and there. and he

21:07

goes, “Well, I um I have an opportunity at a company called SpiritBridge.

21:14

Would you like to just, you know, we need a managing editor? We’re creating like an online magazine kind of thing.” I was like, “Okay, I’ve never done

21:20

anything like that, but that sounds awesome.” And at the point, I was totally broke and had no no options for

21:26

a job, you I was I I even you know growing up I always thought because I waited tables like through college and

21:32

stuff it was always like oh I’ll just wait table like if I ever need to it was my fallback plan I’ll just go back to

21:38

waiting tables like but on Maui that’s a highly competitive job

21:43

I mean because you can make it’s a tourist town you can make really great income waiting tables and so I couldn’t

21:49

get a job waiting tables I I didn’t have any recent experience like I didn’t have the kind of experience they wanted so I

21:56

I was like oh my god even my fallback back plan is not working out. So, I’m in I’m in a desperate mode, you know. So,

22:01

he offers me this job. It It’s not even close to pay the bills and it’s

22:07

part-time, but I’m like, “Okay, this is this is a this is a a step in the right direction.” Okay. So, we do it. It’s

22:15

shortterm. I loved it. It’s over. The the company, you know, ends the contract.

22:21

Then, I’m at dinner at his house with his wife, who I’m really dear friends with to this day. and we’re talking

22:27

about astrology because that was what we talked about. You know, we’re just like having cheese and crackers and talking

22:34

astrology. And he’s on the couch and he looks up at one point and he goes, “You

22:39

know, I I bought a domain name years ago, astrology hub, because I just I saw

22:45

that there might be an opportunity in the astrology field at some point. I’ve just been waiting for the right person

22:53

to do something with it.” And literally the words come out of his mouth and my hand is like like I’m like

23:00

I’ll do it. Like whatever it is, I will do it, you know. And um because I wanted to find that

23:07

thing that like I was passionate about that helped people that that might use my gifts and talents like that, you

23:14

know, and I’ve always been a builder, you know. I’ve from the time I was a little girl like I was starting little businesses and you know, so I just I

23:20

knew it just it was like it was the same thing. It was like I’ll do it. said, “I don’t know what it is, but I I know I need to do it.” So, that’s how it

23:26

started. So, it was it was a domain name. Like, we didn’t even know what the concept was,

23:31

just astrologyhub. Oh,.com. Okay. What does that mean? And what are we going to do with it?

23:37

So, that’s that’s Wow. Wow. I have so many questions. So, when you started and then Okay, you said

23:44

I’ll do it and then you know knowing because you mentioned before you are Capricorn son and stuff. How did you

23:50

like started actually building the idea or bringing the idea to actually to reality? Like what was going through

23:55

your mind when you were like, “Okay, I’m in charge of this now.” Like, okay.

24:01

Well, okay.

24:07

What there there was a combination because at the time he was bringing more online

24:12

experience than I had. M so the combination was between me asking

24:20

the question a what would be really cool what would be really helpful what have I

24:27

struggled with in my astrological journey like what has been hard for me and what what my my answer to that

24:34

question was that the astrology I was getting exposed to was either so complex

24:40

that I had no idea what they were saying or it is so watered down that I didn’t

24:47

find it particularly useful. Right? So I was like there’s nothing really in the middle, you know, there’s like I

24:53

can’t find that like sweet spot in the middle. And and also I loved the kind of

25:00

spiritual orientation around astrology. Like I loved how to like this is all really cool, but like how does it

25:06

actually help us live better lives? like how does it actually help us like live our purpose and show up for

25:12

our children and and have better relationships and you know all these things like I really wanted the the

25:17

Capricorn part of me wanted the real practical like how do I apply it in my

25:23

life you know so at the time there was no um also the other thing I noticed is

25:29

that at least in the world I had come from no one really knew what astrology

25:36

was like They thought it was a horoscopes, you know, and just like me, they wrote it off as silly and like not

25:43

serious, you know, but what I was experiencing was so different than that that I was like, I would love to

25:51

introduce the more people who are, you know, interested to what like real astrology is and for them to meet some

25:57

of these people that I’m like the kind of people I’m meeting through Natasha, you know, like these are these are some

26:05

of the most educated, eloquent passionate interesting people that I’ve

26:11

ever met in my entire life. So, wouldn’t it be cool to introduce people to them?

26:17

You know, it was kind of like I was having this experience and I wanted other people to have the kind of

26:24

experience I was having without me having to explain it. Like, just experience it and then you make your own decision. You know, that was the other

26:30

thing is I wasn’t interested in getting involved in the who’s right and who’s wrong conversation.

26:36

which way is right, which way is wrong, which because I was always interested in like

26:43

nutrition and and health. And it always was so disappointing to me to get to the point where everyone’s

26:49

fighting over like which way is right and which way is wrong. It it would like crush my enthusiasm because it was like,

26:55

oh god, now I’m just totally confused and and it like it’s not fun anymore,

27:00

you know? So I I wanted to make sure that we were holding a space where where

27:05

it was all welcome and in that other people get you get to decide like which is the right way for you and you get to

27:12

decide which kind of teacher you like and you get to decide which approach to astrology resonates the most with you.

27:18

So those kinds of things were really important from the beginning. Mhm. And then it was a matter of okay well

27:24

how do you do that like and so he brought the idea that maybe we

27:30

do an online summit because because there were those were happening in other industries those were

27:38

happening in nutrition those were happening in um like I don’t know a lot of places marketing you know

27:44

and we looked around we’re like I don’t think they’re happening in astrology at the time and they weren’t and so what we

27:50

were able to do was bring the first as far as I know I still I still don’t

27:56

think anybody else that was doing online astrology summits at the time and the astrologers were like what are

28:01

you doing like is this some sort of like multi-level marketing scheme like there was a lot of

28:07

there was a lot of hesitation in the beginning and I totally understand why we’re these two people neither one of us

28:13

are astrologers we aren’t like super connected in the field and we’re like hey do you want to

28:19

come and do this thing, you know. So, anyways, that’s was the first thing we did was an online summit. And Rich was

28:26

like, Rich Tabinger is the the guy that I was working with at the time. He’s like, I think you should do like 33

28:31

interviews. And I was like, what? First of all, I’ve never interviewed anyone.

28:37

Second of all, I’m not comfortable on camera at all.

28:43

Third of all, how are we going to get 33 people? I don’t even I mean I know Natasha and I know one other astrologer

28:50

on Maui and that was it at the time really you know so it was just like okay

28:56

and so that’s that was basically where we started it like felt like this huge yeah okay I’m a Capricorn so it’s kind

29:02

of like a mountain worth looking up and being like but it sounds fine you know like can we pull it off like

29:08

so and we did we we got there was 33 astrologers and it I wasn’t on camera

29:16

thank god it was audio only that Zoom and things like that weren’t big yet. So I we did it an audio only summit and I

29:23

thought it was really fun. I thought it was fun to talk to people. I found that I you like my natural curiosity really

29:31

played well as a translatable skill in interviewing. Um and so yeah, that’s that’s how it

29:36

started. Well, yeah. I was I wanted to ask you because I mean

29:43

you’re like doing things you never done before, you know, astrology interviewing people. It’s like I mean really truly

29:49

big admiration there for being so brave to say okay, you know, let’s just like I mean it’s I don’t know how you did it

29:57

from but wow. So how do you feel the first time you did your first interview

30:07

without the camera and then with the camera? Okay. Um terrified.

30:14

Like out of my depth, you know. Um

30:21

and when it was released, oh god, I remember I remember this like it was literally yesterday. So we released the

30:26

summit. I had just been doing all these little interviews in my bedroom. I didn’t know if they were good. I didn’t

30:32

know if anybody cared. I didn’t know if anybody was interested. And so I did, you know, I did all these interviews and

30:39

then we release it. Like we released the first one and the first feedback we got

30:45

was this like scathing email. It was I mean the person like it couldn’t have

30:52

been scripted better. You know what I’m saying? Like it was just so mean and they they hated me. They

30:58

literally I was like, “Oh shoot.” Like I just I like I remember I was crying. I

31:03

was just so sad because I was like, “Oh my god, is this whole thing just a

31:09

disaster?” And like, did I just mess up every single like And to me, like, I was

31:16

I was in that rock bottom moment still. So, it was like, “Oh my god, did I just like ruin this opportunity?”

31:22

Uhhuh. Anyways, the first few emails that came in were mean.

31:29

Oh, wow. And then the really nice ones started to come in. It was like, and I’ve noticed

31:34

this, like oftentimes the disgruntled ones are the loudest. They’re and and

31:40

they’re the first, you know, and so those came in first and then the

31:45

like, “Oh my gosh, that was amazing.” Or this is so cool. Like because before

31:52

this everyone the only way to get access to these kinds of talks this level of astrological conversation was to travel

31:59

to a conference or to travel where your teacher is and like give up your life and live there

32:04

for for years while you’re getting mentored. So then the the then the grateful people

32:10

started writing in and just saying, “Oh my god, I got to like do this in my pajamas. Oh my god. Like that. Like I

32:17

can’t believe I’m listening to Mark Jones, you know. I can’t believe I’m listening to I don’t think Rick was on

32:22

that first. I can’t believe I’m listening to Deborah Silverman. And you know, I’ve only seen her on YouTube, you

32:28

know. So then those people started coming and and I really like I I hung on

32:34

to them and I still do. Like it to me it’s like the ones who I know we’re

32:39

serving, the ones who I know are getting something from what we’re offering, I’m

32:46

speaking to them as much as possible. I mean, it’s really hard. Like, I don’t know if you ever get to a point where like you’re you don’t

32:52

hear the the critic or the you know, but and it’s taken and I I can’t I can’t

32:58

even say that I’m better at it than I was in the beginning. Maybe maybe maybe I am because I know that there are

33:05

people at this point that we are serving. You know, I hear enough of stories like yours. Okay. No, but then I didn’t I didn’t hear I

33:11

didn’t have like a backlog of those kinds of stories. So, it was hard the first time on camera. I mean,

33:17

honestly, like I I rarely look at the videos even to this day

33:24

really. I rarely like listen to myself. I really try to just be in a

33:30

conversation with you while I’m in the conversation with you and just like talk to you as if we were

33:35

sitting and having coffee. Um, I probably should like critique

33:42

myself more, but I but I don’t that much because um because I’m still like I

33:48

don’t know. I I wouldn’t call myself shy like I’m I’m a friendly person. Uh but

33:55

yeah, anyways, so the first time we did basically the first I mean we even started the podcast audio only. The

34:02

podcast was audio only for the first two years. Like we didn’t actually put it on YouTube until late in 2019 and then 2020

34:09

is Oh really? Oh yeah. No, no, no. It was audio only. Oh wow. Yeah, because I remember, you

34:16

know, hearing some episodes like only hearing, you know, when I knew astrology, I went I’m, you know, I’m

34:22

backstage. I go down down down. I’m like, okay, who is this person? Blah blah. Yeah. And I started hearing and I’m like, I I

34:28

don’t know when exactly where did you when did you started making the videos up to? And then I I wanted to ask you

34:35

because probably you know COVID you know probably for you was a huge like oh god

34:41

like how do you deal with this comfort zone you created maybe I mean you know

34:48

with the podcast and suddenly like boom like everyone is locked down we are all looking for answers including myself

34:56

Amanda what happened including myself I mean again it was that same question of like what do I

35:03

need right now and how can because I started I started calling up astrologers and just going what the what is going on

35:09

and then they would start talking and I was like oh I should probably share this with everybody this is helping me so

35:15

much I should probably just share it with everybody can you come and we’ll like even that’s when the cosmic

35:21

connection started where Rick and I were meeting every week and when Ann and I were doing the weekly weather every week

35:28

was an answer to that question of like what do people need right now. And in

35:33

that moment, people needed reassurance. They needed, including myself, like I’m

35:39

including I needed reassurance. I needed to be reminded that this was all part of

35:46

the astrological invitation of the time. Like it was scripted and and we were

35:52

living it. And so I am always asking the question, okay, well, like if we’re

35:58

here, which we are, we’re all here. We’re here for a reason.

36:05

We’re here to contribute something. We can’t control the astrological tides.

36:11

I believe we chose to be here at this particular time. So how can we do it the

36:19

best way possible? But what is the what is the highest invitation of this moment in time of this astrological transit of

36:24

this period of life in you know in our lives? What is the highest invitation?

36:30

And and can I like what can I do to to live that as best as I can? I mean we’re

36:36

not perfect, right? We’re humans. We’re doing the best we can. But but once we have the information, then we get to

36:44

make choices. And I feel like without the information, it just feels like we’re getting like battered around, you

36:50

know? I can’t imagine navigating 2020, 2021, 2022

36:56

right now without the the anchoring in the the bigger picture of what’s happening

37:02

astrologically. It just it helps me so much personally. So again, I’m like, if it’s helping me, it’s probably helping

37:08

other people. And actually Natasha said something to me about my 12th house placements at one point that has stuck

37:15

with me. She said that when we have placements in the 12th house,

37:23

we’re clued into the collective consciousness in a different way. And so I have

37:28

trusted that and and really when I have something that like I really need, I

37:35

trust that other people really need that too. And so I go with that, you know, it’s kind of like if I’m needing it,

37:40

probably there’s other people like me out there who also need it. So I mean to answer your question,

37:46

uh well, so first of all, when when everybody starts getting locked down and

37:52

the economy is like crashing and people don’t have work, it was like, okay, like

37:58

this might be the end of astrology. Literally, I was like, this could be the

38:05

end. like this really could. And I I remember I did it I did a podcast episode with Adam Summer. It was one of

38:12

the first episodes we did right when everybody started getting locked down because and and one of the things we

38:18

talked about was the movie Titanic because I really felt like we were at

38:26

that moment where like the ship is sinking and and we may all go down with it. like

38:34

there’s a really good chance that we’re going to go down with this ship. And I I remembered the part where you’re

38:40

seeing all the different ways that people were were responding to that crisis.

38:46

You have the people who are fighting over the lifeboats and killing each other over it.

38:53

You have the people who are playing music. You have Oh god, it makes me cry still.

38:58

Yeah. You have the mom who’s like cuddled up

39:05

with her kids like reading them a book. So in that moment I was like, “Well, who

39:12

do I want to be? Like if I’m if I’m going down, if astrology’s going down,

39:19

none of us know like what’s happening really, you know? Is there this deadly disease that everyone’s going to be gone

39:24

tomorrow? Like who do I want to be in this moment?” And I was like, I want to

39:30

play music and read stories. And so that was like, okay, well, if

39:38

we’re gonna play music and read stories, we have this community who needs us right now. Let’s just go. Like, let’s

39:43

just be on air as much as possible. Let’s play music for them as much as

39:49

possible. Let’s be a place where they can go and like feel comforted and

39:56

inspired and hopeful. And that’s what we did. And it was just it was like

40:03

it was terrifying and so exhilarating because I know that we helped so many

40:08

people through that time. We helped ourselves and we helped them and uh we

40:15

helped the astrologers too. They needed an outlet. They needed a place where they could go and like help people. Like

40:21

that’s that’s the thing that’s motivating them to do astrology. they didn’t get into astrology because they thought they were going to be

40:26

celebrities or they thought they were going to be like wealthy, you know, it’s

40:32

truly coming from a sole place of like how do I serve and and how can I help

40:38

people? So, it was really a beautiful time from that perspective. Um, you

40:45

know, and then there were a lot of like initiations as a leader because there were a lot of moments of how do I want

40:52

to handle this? on what level do I want to get involved in the um in the divide

40:59

that I also saw really happening? And it was really heartbreaking for me to see

41:04

that. I mean,

41:10

the the seemingly benign topics would be brought up and

41:18

people would be fighting and like it was hard for me because we’d always held this space of like you’re all welcome

41:24

here. Like we’re having a we’re having an astrological conversation. I don’t want anyone to feel left out of that.

41:30

Like that to me is the antithesis of astrology. Like astrology to me and I know like

41:35

sometimes I must sound so like naive and I don’t know polyiana or whatever but to

41:41

me astrology is a universal unifier.

41:47

We are all under these same stars. The stars don’t know divides.

41:52

And so to me, it’s like I don’t I’m not

42:00

interested or inspired to be fighting or to be holding a space where everybody’s

42:06

like I am totally fine for healthy debate. My god, respectful, healthy,

42:13

kind debate is juicy and alive. Like this is where we learn about each other.

42:18

Like this is this is to me the the beauty of the Aquarius Leo axis. Like

42:25

yes, be an individual with your individual perspective, with your unique gifts, with with the way you see the

42:33

world in the way that only you can. Astrology shows us that that that is the truth of who we are and how do we

42:40

contribute that for the for the good of all for for the the the good of humanity.

42:49

That to me is a really interesting conversation. But but because it was so raw, because it was so um

42:54

I mean people it was life and death, you know, like people were people were in

42:59

their survival instinct and and and I don’t fault them for that, you know. I

43:06

don’t fault like everybody being where they were at at the time. I just had to make a decision about what conversation

43:13

I wanted to have and what space we wanted to hold and what values we could uphold. And

43:19

actually in my book that’s coming out in November, I explain

43:24

to me like the backstory of why that is

43:30

so fundamentally important for my soul in this lifetime.

43:36

It it’s It’s like one of those it it just feels like one of those non-negotiables. Like I’ve messed it up

43:42

enough times in whatever lifetimes I’ve lived that I don’t want to do that this time.

43:48

Like I’m like been there, done that. I’ve learned the hard lessons. I’ve experienced the pain and suffering that

43:54

comes from not doing the thing that I know to be

43:59

true. And so that was the question at that time like what space do we want to

44:04

hold? what what frequency is astrology

44:09

hub resonating at? And it was really amazing to go through

44:16

that time and have to get really crystal clear about that and to uphold it even when of course we got criticized for

44:22

that too. Like people being like well I I want politics. I want I want to be

44:28

like in that conversation. I want and it’s like okay there’s plenty of places

44:35

to go for that. Like a lot of people are having that conversation and and I’m totally happy to do it in a

44:41

way that is respectful and honoring. That’s it. Wow. Amanda. Wow. Is the

44:47

beautiful that how you explain the the Titanic, you know, that the whole the story. I never saw it that way. So

44:52

beautiful. And I hope every time guys you think that the the ship is sinking.

44:59

Sinking. You say in English sinking. Like I feel it every day here. And now with that vision you just gave to me

45:05

it’s like okay yeah what role I want to play because I mean we are in this very interesting times there let’s just put

45:11

it that way the ship the ship might be sinking you know like for sure yes

45:16

that’s a great reminder and I’m so happy that I mean nobody knows that the things

45:22

you go through because you know being a leading platform or maybe maybe you didn’t even know you were a leading

45:28

platform during COVID but like all the responsibility and integrity in how you

45:34

handle these things. I I mean it’s truly admiring. So I want to thank you for that and and al also for people to

45:40

recognize a bit also what happens behind the scenes because this is what this podcast is about. There is a lot going

45:47

on. So so after yeah in that process of covid postcoid vaccine vaccine whatever

45:53

you know and you saw that people were joining joining I remember you have to migrate platforms um to to some other

45:59

platform. So I’m I’m assuming you realized you needed a team or maybe you already had a team. So

46:07

Oh yeah. So So how what how was that process of realizing oh man like I have whatever K

46:15

numbers of followers now and we are you know on demand how did you manage that wave?

46:22

So I don’t know what this is about me. It could be the Capricorn delegator thing but I’ve always known I need a

46:29

team. I am like I’m good at certain things and I’m really not good at other things, you

46:35

know, like I am not a detail person. I am not a like so like those first few

46:42

summits we did I I basically ran it all by myself. It was horrible. It was so

46:47

hard like scheduling 33 people, running

46:53

the interviews, figuring out how to get everything edited, doing the landing

46:58

page, doing the, you know, all the emails, all the it’s like, “Oh my god, this is a lot.” And so from the

47:07

beginning, well, once once we could, I was like, “I need someone to help me

47:14

with some of these details because I’m just I’m really not good at them.” like I can do it, but I’m horrible and I like

47:23

get really cranky, you know, like like this is not, you know, I just it’s hard. It’s draining, very draining. Um, so of

47:30

course I did it because sometimes you have to and like that’s just the reality of the situation. But that um was

47:36

probably so it was probably like a year in where I was like okay I need like I need like an assistant like someone who

47:42

can help me like communicate with the astrologers and do the contracts and you know make sure they have everything they

47:48

need the link to join and you know all those little details. It’s a lot. Uh so you know we had a like I had a

47:54

part-time person I’d say by like 20 so this was 2015 is when it started.

48:00

So by like 2016, 2017, you know, just as we could, just bringing in help, you

48:06

know, someone to do graphic design and helping along the way. And then at this time, the the online tools weren’t very

48:11

good, you know? So like you really needed you needed a web designer, you

48:18

know what I’m saying? You needed you needed these these people who have this expertise because it wasn’t plug-and-play and it wasn’t easy to do.

48:25

So I would say in 2020 2021

48:31

we definitely brought on more people. We definitely brought on and I had a really

48:36

big vision for what I thought we were building toward. So I had like a 10-year

48:45

vision and it was really big. my Capricorn again like it’s like

48:51

yeah I just like see things big you know automotically is big yes and and then the Capricorn’s okay

48:58

well what we would do we need in place in order to like make this vision real so I went through a period of time where

49:07

we were hiring for a future vision wow it was a lot it was a lot and it was

49:12

like again like there’s So many times in this

49:18

process where I’ve had to be like, where is my joy? Like what what’s inspiring for me? What’s fun for me? Because this

49:26

this the company started in that place. This is inspiring. This is fun. This is joyful. This is, you know,

49:31

I I I’m inspired to share these things. So whenever it feels heavy

49:37

and burdensome and uh you know, I’m just like doing it

49:44

because I have to do it because this is what we’re doing. Yeah. Delivering. I yeah like I’ll like it when and that’s happened a few times

49:52

where it’s gotten to that place where it’s like it starts to feel heavy like because especially after 2020 2021 we did grow huge the team expanded but then

49:59

in 2022 2020 everything contracted again but we had this huge team so it was like

50:05

oh this is this is heavy and so then it was we got to contract again like

50:13

because this isn’t this isn’t we don’t have in order to sustain this thing,

50:18

it’s to I’m having to do things I don’t I’m not inspired to do, right?

50:24

It’s not fun anymore. It’s not So, again, it’s like this I always think of um Rick talking about like the Jupiter

50:30

expansion and the Saturn contraction and you need both. And so, I’ve experienced that so much in running this business,

50:36

like the period of time where just everything, you know, and you you meet the demand and you grow with the demand,

50:41

but then there’s a time where it’s like, okay, that’s not there anymore. So we got to we got to go back in and that’s

50:47

okay. That doesn’t mean failure. That doesn’t mean it’s a disaster. Just that’s just the eb and flow of business,

50:53

of life, of you know, nature, all of them, right?

50:58

So, uh, you know, but I’m making it sound like it’s easy. It’s never easy. The contraction part is never easy. Like

51:05

having to let people go, having to cut back people’s hours, you know, all that. I I really don’t like doing any of that.

51:13

It’s not fun. It’s not fun. And it’s you know I always I always hold the if it is best for I

51:20

I’ve always thought of astrology hub as its own entity. It has a soul. It has a mission. You know we know this as people

51:27

into astrology like everything is a birth chart. Everything has a soul. And so if if this is best for astrology

51:35

hub if I can answer that like with an emphatic yes. And I know what’s best for AstrologyHub is me being inspired and me

51:40

being on fire with like my joy and my enthusiasm. And when when that starts to

51:47

go away, it’s like it’s not good for AstrologyHub either. So, it’s like, okay, if it’s best for AstrologyHub, if

51:55

it’s best for me personally, then I know that eventually it’s best for everybody,

52:02

including the community, including the team, including, you know, whoever else is involved, the astrologers, you know.

52:08

So, having to make those calls is I always there’s always this element of trust that like they’re going to be

52:14

better in the end, everything will be better in the end. And I and I I’m so I

52:19

know that astrology wants to live, you know, like it wants and so to live it it

52:24

needs to be sustainable. It needs to have the healthy elements of

52:32

a sustainable entity. And I always look to nature for that. Like you could like I always look to what do the flowers

52:39

need? What do the trees need? what what does nature need in order to be sustainable and to bear fruit every two

52:44

years on those mango trees that I have in my yard? What do they need? You know, there’s like the fundamentals. And so

52:51

the business is no no different. Yeah, that’s so such a simple formula. No, and we we complicate ourselves and

52:58

you know, try to find the strategy and and you know, just look at a tree in your garden and follow the same recipe.

53:04

That’s beautiful. Amanda, thanks. Yes, Amanda. Um, do you have more time? We reach one hour but I want to check.

53:09

Yeah. Okay. Just to start closing but so Amanda talking more about your you know

53:15

your personal routine because I mean how do you handle sharing so much energy

53:20

every day with so many people including your husband the people you interview

53:26

your team your daughters the community? How do you nurture yourself to stay

53:31

grounded? Um, another thing I’ve had to learn through time and often the hard

53:37

way, it’s the same thing as the tree. What

53:45

does the tree need? What does Amanda need? I need rest. I need light. I need air. I need water. I need fundamentals

53:52

of nutrition. I I have gotten to a point where I recognize that prioritizing

53:59

those things is prioritizing the business, is prioritizing my children,

54:05

is prioritizing my partner. So, it’s like

54:15

I’m not always perfect at it. As a Capricorn, it’s hard. I have to like it’s something I have to

54:21

rebalance on a consistent basis because again life isn’t static. There’s periods

54:26

of time where it’s busier than others. We go on a trip coming back from the

54:34

trip there’s like the integration phase of like you know everything feels out of balance. So like what are the fundamentals I do to get myself back in

54:39

balance? One of the biggest things is getting outside. M

54:46

I have to get outside. I I have to get under the sky. Every time I do, I hear

54:52

the stars are like I mean that sounds crazy, but you know, I I know it’s them.

55:01

You run an astrology company. You have to be with us like every day. There’s

55:06

you you cannot be in your little studio at your little computer all day every

55:12

day. like you need to get outside. And so, and that doesn’t mean just at night. Like this morning I was I I told you I

55:18

was up at 4:16. I don’t always like to wake up that early, but I often do sometime between 4

55:25

and 5, but I go to bed early. But anyways, I um I just went out and walked

55:31

in the dark. And I always think of that uh quote. I forget who said it. I need

55:36

to I need to like Rick is so good at memorizing who says all the quotes. I’m always like, “What the how do you pull

55:41

that out of your head all the time? It’s amazing.” Anyways, the quote is, “I have

55:46

loved the stars too fondly to be fearful

55:52

of the night.” Oh, beautiful. So, to me, I just I go out there, I just

55:58

like walk I I do I I have recently within the last I don’t know,

56:04

maybe about a year started really prioritizing my step count. So when I do

56:09

um but what that does is it gets me outside. Like it it it gifies me getting

56:14

outside. So like if I’m aiming for 12,500 steps a day, that means I’m going

56:22

to be outside a lot more than if I was doing 6,000 steps. So okay, getting outside, getting sleep. I mean, I just

56:32

it’s the fundamentals. I definitely um eat as clean as possible. I um

56:39

love the ocean. Yeah, I have to dance. When I don’t when I don’t get my dance day every week, I’m

56:46

off. It’s like oxygen to me that just moment of like being we I dance with my

56:53

teacher right by the ocean on this like natural platform made of rock and it’s

56:59

like this natural stage. It’s like the best thing ever. Wow. And we just we dance hoola early in the

57:04

morning with the sun rising. I mean, it’s these things, but not this didn’t I didn’t start this way. You know what I’m

57:11

saying? Like, this has come through like a lot of trial and error. A lot of like, what do I need to show up my best? But when I’m doing these things, I have the

57:18

energy to do all the other things, right? You know what I’m saying? Then it’s easy to show up and have conversations like

57:23

this and have Oh, I take naps as much as possible almost every day.

57:29

Wow. Okay. I’m a total napper. Like, and I love naps because I feel like I get two days.

57:35

There’s like day before the nap, the nap, and then like I feel like I almost get an entire other day.

57:40

But yeah, like it’s, you know, those fundamentals. Interesting. Beautiful. Yeah, because

57:46

well, I mean, come on. Yeah, I was just thinking about, you know, how many interviews you may, you know, you do a

57:52

day and then, I don’t know, pick up the kids at school, whatever. I was just like, oh my god, how she handles all these things. You know, I’m actually

57:59

more like a detailed person. So I think about the little things, you know, like how she handles this or that. But tell

58:04

us more about your beautiful book. I can’t wait for it. Tell us more about your book because I mean

58:11

from this conversation I’m getting you have such a beautiful journey, the way you you tell the story, the things you

58:17

notice because you know you’re so in tune with yourself. So tell us more about the book and when is it coming,

58:23

when can we get it, where can we get it and all these things. Um, so I’ve had this like book inside of me

58:29

since in 2019 I was taking a a like a book writer’s

58:34

class and we would we would meet every Wednesday. It was online and and

58:40

Wednesday was like my writing day and I had all this idea of writing a book. It was a very different book than the one

58:47

that is going to be published in November. But then COVID happened and my kids were

58:52

at home all day every day and I lost my Wednesday and I was like, “Okay, I guess

58:59

I need to put this on the shelf. Like obviously this isn’t the right time.” So I did. Came back, but it kept haunting

59:05

me. Like it was like, “No, no, no. You’re going to write a book. You’re going to write a book.” I’m like, “Okay.” I didn’t even really know what the book was going to be about. But at

59:11

the time, I thought I was go I was like, “Gosh, I’ve I’ve interviewed all these astrologers. I’m gonna like take compilations of like some of the best

59:16

things they’ve said and like write a book around that. You know, that was the first book.

59:22

So then it came back around in 2023 and I did the I don’t know if you were

59:29

around for the solstice intention setting series that I did, but I I created this whole intention

59:36

setting series and I used the archetypes of the zodiac and we set intentions

59:42

around those archetypes. And so for every month of the year there was an intention set. Okay. So then the second

59:48

idea was I was gonna write a book around that because I had already like done all these videos and you know it was very

59:55

much alive in me. I was like okay I’ll write a book about that. I’ll start it a little bit with my story and then I’ll go into like how to set intentions using

1:00:03

the zodiac archetypes as like the anchor point. That’s very So I start to write it and I’m writing

1:00:11

my story and it’s like 10 pages for the story and then 50 pages for the story

1:00:17

and then 150 pages for the story. I’m like, “Oh,

1:00:24

wow. I think that the story wants to be told.” And it was interesting for me

1:00:29

because I was reexperiencing the story in a way

1:00:35

I had never told. Like I’d never because you know people ask me like how did you start astrology

1:00:42

heaven? Like I would tell tell the story but it was coming through in a totally different way with dialogue with like

1:00:48

it was in vivid color. It was like I was inviting people in to have the

1:00:53

experience with me as if they were living it. So was it it it kind of reads like a fictional story,

1:00:59

but it’s not your truth. Exactly. Wow. Um and

1:01:04

and so so I write this whole thing. It ends up, you know, 300 pages. And I was

1:01:11

like, “Oh, wow. Am I actually going to put this out there?” Because it is cuz

1:01:18

I’m a 12th house son and it’s very it’s raw. It’s like it’s exposed. And and you

1:01:25

know, I had the thought the other day. I was like, there’s not one single person in the entire world that knows

1:01:32

everything about me that’s in that book. Mhm. But it was kind of the thing like what

1:01:39

happened during co it was like, will this be of service? Could my story

1:01:46

actually inspire other people going through similar experiences of transformation? Could this help someone

1:01:52

that’s like at that hard part, the really hard part that lasts a lot longer than anyone ever says it’s going to

1:01:58

last? Could this help them through it? Could this get people inspired to to

1:02:03

maybe look into their birth chart and like see what it’s all about? And I I

1:02:11

believe the answer to those questions is yes. And so then it’s like, okay, I’m going to do it. So in typical Capricorn

1:02:19

fashion, I got help, you know, because I’ve never written a book. So, I I hired um a book coach and a

1:02:24

developmental editor. And at one point, as I’m writing the story, I’m like,

1:02:30

the astrology was so clearly alive the whole time in this story, but I didn’t know anything about astrology. So, how

1:02:37

do I retell the story highlighting the fact that astrology is playing out in my life even though I’m

1:02:45

clueless about it, right? It’s like, well, maybe I’ll invite Natasha Alter, who was who is the

1:02:50

astrologer who gave me my first reading, who’s my soul sister, fairy godmother, I don’t know what you want to call her,

1:02:56

but she’s this magical presence in my life still. Maybe invite her to do

1:03:03

notes, like astrologers notes that are like a commentary on the story. And so I

1:03:09

like I called her up and I was like, “What do you think about this idea?” and she was like, “Wow.” Like, “Yes.” Like,

1:03:15

it was one of those immediate yeses as well. And so throughout the story, there’s like there’s 42 chapters and I

1:03:20

think 15 or 16 of them have astrologers notes where she provides a commentary on

1:03:26

what was happening astrologically, but then also brings it to the person. So, for example,

1:03:31

there’s in my Saturn return where I’ve like built this empire in New York City

1:03:37

and I like think that I’m climbing this mountain, but there’s this like internal dialogue

1:03:44

that’s starting to wake up in me that’s like, is this really what you’re here for? Is this what is this what life is

1:03:52

all about? Isn’t there something more for you? You know, this is all like starting in the background. And so she

1:03:57

could reflect about the Saturn return and what what wakes up, what that

1:04:03

maturation process is for everybody, you know, like using my story as an example. So it’s kind of like, you know, how we

1:04:09

always do the celebrity charts and we and we to me it’s almost like we we think we

1:04:15

know what that celebrity was going through because of what was maybe portrayed in the media or whatever. this

1:04:23

is an opportunity to get like way behind the scenes and to see a chart playing out in a very

1:04:28

intimate way. And so I’m hoping and actually um Jennifer Rasobi is one of

1:04:34

the early I don’t know if you know her. She’s an astrologer. Yeah. Yeah. I took her master class when I was in the inner circle. Of course.

1:04:40

Yes. Yeah. She’s amazing. So she um is has been so generous with her uh she’s

1:04:46

written a book, you know, and it it so she’s like she she understands what I’m going through. She’s like, “I’ll help you in any way you want.” So, she

1:04:54

started reading it and she’s like, “Wow, like this is such an amazing teaching tool.” And I’m like, “Yes, awesome.” So

1:05:00

it’s it’s story and I hope that it I hope that it is interesting and

1:05:06

entertaining from a story perspective for the reader and then also

1:05:13

that they get to learn astrology while they’re reading the book and you know learn more about their own chart and

1:05:19

start to look into certain things about their own chart. You know, Natasha has a note on on astrocartgraphy or

1:05:25

relocation, of course, because the story charts me from California to New York to Hawaii. So, what was happening

1:05:32

astrologically? So, it’s, you know, yeah, I think I it might be the first book

1:05:38

honestly I I have read a lot of books that it’s actually telling a story like

1:05:45

a personal story. Yes. And explaining France. It’s It is the It’s probably Yeah. the first book. said

1:05:52

too. She’s like, “Oh my god, this never end.” And I It was one of those moments of like just getting the inspiration,

1:05:59

acting on it, getting the immediate yes from Natasha, knowing that that’s like when things flow like that, then then we

1:06:04

go and we don’t always know why, but like as it was unfolding, it was just like, “Oh, wow. This is really cool.”

1:06:10

Like this is the first time it’s been done. Like how cool, you know? Yeah. I think it will be a complete

1:06:16

success. And I also wanted to to ask you because obviously I mean I know like in

1:06:22

backstage astrology we’re supposed to only interview astrologers but I do think you’re an astrologer. Come on. You

1:06:28

have 10 years of I don’t know how many conversations. Have you counted them? Minutes.

1:06:33

Oh my god. Hundreds. I mean minutes like Yes. Yes. So would you do you I mean do you

1:06:40

consider yourself an astrologer or

1:06:46

thank you for the question and I still don’t call myself that and and it’s not

1:06:55

because I don’t want to be associated as an astrologer or anything like that. It’s just that I don’t read charts all

1:07:01

the time. Like I don’t I think of an astrologer as someone who’s like reading charts and like but I guess it’s not

1:07:08

actually true because there are some like there’s some astrologers that that do it differently, you know, that are

1:07:14

they’re not reading charts for people either. But um

1:07:21

I mean do I know about more about astrology than like the average person? Oh my gosh, yes. Like I know I feel like

1:07:28

I know the archetypes very intimately. I know a lot very intimately,

1:07:34

but I still don’t call myself an astrologer. I don’t know. Maybe it’s crazy. Maybe I should. I just don’t.

1:07:41

I like consider myself still like the hostess who invites everybody to the party and invite and introduces them to

1:07:46

the real astrologers, you know? Yes, that’s the way I think about it. You’ve interviewed hundreds of

1:07:52

astrologers. What have you learned about astrology by being the one asking the

1:07:59

questions? that in astrology is infinitely

1:08:05

fascinating. Just when I think I’ve gotten to like the last person who might

1:08:12

have something interesting to say or the last topic that might be interesting, it’s like, oh my god. And it’s it it has

1:08:21

only confirmed for me the truth that we are we are navigating

1:08:28

cosmic astrological tides. That we are absolutely a part of all of it. That there is purpose and meaning behind what

1:08:34

we’re doing here. That there is divine intelligence that’s completely mind-blowing beyond any concept we could

1:08:40

possibly have. And that this is an incredible time to be alive.

1:08:48

Yeah, like I I mean like I talked to all of them. I mean here are these like incredibly intelligent human beings who

1:08:56

have like turned this topic inside out upside down. There’s many of them who started as critics who only got into it

1:09:03

to prove that it was wrong who are just like I it it blows me away every single

1:09:11

day. Wow. So to be asking the questions, it’s just it’s it’s and also that that that

1:09:17

really well done astrology that is done by by people in integrity

1:09:23

who actually care about astrology and who care about people that it is

1:09:30

absolutely so helpful and useful for people that

1:09:35

who are ready for it. I’m not saying everybody. There’s not only one way, but if you’re one of those people who’s

1:09:42

attuned to it, that it can actually it can absolutely change your life in beautiful, beautiful, wonderful ways.

1:09:48

Um, yeah. Wow. Okay. And looking back, what is one

1:09:53

mistake you think you made as a business woman that turned into your greatest

1:09:58

teacher? One.

1:10:05

Get one. Um, you know, I don’t know if you remember

1:10:12

when we built the big platform for readings. Yes. Yeah. The the the Yeah. You can

1:10:21

pick the astrologer and do a reading. Yeah. Yes. Yes. It was

1:10:27

I still think it’s a great idea. I still think someone should do it. Maybe we’ll do it again.

1:10:35

But it’s not it’s well no you can still do it just not with the big huge technical infrastructure that we built. So we

1:10:42

invested a lot in this technical platform that

1:10:48

enabled like everything from the very beginning to

1:10:55

the very end like even you even had the reading via the platform. You booked the reading via the platform. you

1:11:00

got your recording via the platform like we were we it was the idea came even

1:11:06

before better health existed but then once I started hearing about better at health I was like oh

1:11:15

it’s basically that but astrologers right okay so what I realized in doing that is

1:11:24

it was going to cost so much money to keep that thing going with the amount

1:11:30

of volume it would need to actually be profitable and to keep it going because so what

1:11:37

happened is I ended up inadvertently becoming a tech company and becoming and and that’s not where my joy is like

1:11:42

that’s not where my you know what I’m saying so like we built this thing with this idea which I still think is a great

1:11:47

idea and I still think it’s a service that people could use because I I felt really

1:11:53

I I wanted to make sure that people who wanted really great readings had a place to go where they could like the people

1:11:58

were vetted and and they could trust that they were going to get a good high quality reading. And I still think that

1:12:04

that is valid, but just the business part of actually running a technology

1:12:11

platform and all of the like it was like we built this house that then needed all this maintenance like constantly

1:12:18

maintained and like so now we’re involved in these things and I’m just like oh my gosh this is not

1:12:23

this is not why I started AstrologyHub to be like a tech company that’s running

1:12:29

a big huge platform like you know So, so it was one day we were

1:12:34

on a call and it was just like it was so expensive the volume like I was like,

1:12:40

“Oh my god, we would have to have a huge marketing budget to even like make this thing work.” And so I was I was looking

1:12:47

into raising money, like investing money so we could support this thing that we built.

1:12:54

And so we’re like months into that process and I have this moment of like I don’t want to bring in investors. like

1:12:59

that’ll change the energy of this entire thing. Wow. I don’t want to be running a tech

1:13:04

company, but we had Oh my god, we had spent so much money on this thing. So,

1:13:11

walking away from it from the perspective of like you just like

1:13:17

it was it was it was a very expensive mistake. I’ll just say that. But

1:13:24

but it was good. I’m so glad we did it. I’m so glad that that I shut it well

1:13:30

shut I didn’t actually shut it down. We we just reinvented where now like it’s basically just a referral like you you

1:13:36

go on to astrology hub. You can find an astrologer and then it just goes to the astrologer. They do the booking. They

1:13:42

they run everything. Yeah. Yeah. I remember going Yeah. We can play the role we’re good at

1:13:48

which is connecting people but then like let the astrologers handle that piece of it, you know? But we also wanted to

1:13:53

lighten the load for the astrologers. Like we it was it was a well-intentioned idea.

1:13:59

It just I got in way too far of a thing that isn’t my kana. You know that’s one

1:14:07

of my favorite words. Kana it’s a Hawaiian word that means responsibility

1:14:15

and joy. Ah very nice kana. I often yeah kana. So I often ask myself

1:14:22

this is this is a good idea but is it my kana like is it both my responsibility?

1:14:28

very nice and my joy. And if I cannot answer yes to that, then it’s somebody else’s

1:14:34

kooliana. They should do it. Yay, go do it. We need it. I think we need it. You know what I’m saying? But just not

1:14:39

it’s not not mine to do. So, I’ve had to like learn again the hard way. And whenever I like try to

1:14:45

push against that, it doesn’t work anyways. And it ends up costing even more money and more energy

1:14:50

and more sadness and despair. So, I may as well

1:14:55

just like cut it before we get to that point. So, I’ve learned that through making mistakes. I mean, I’ve made

1:15:01

Right. But I think I mean I didn’t know that the whole reading was held there. Sorry. I went through there. I look at I

1:15:07

remember looking and saying, “Oh, but I didn’t I mean I didn’t purchase so I didn’t know it was there.” But I think

1:15:13

it’s I mean when you when you made it, I said like, “Wow, finally all you find them all together in one place.”

1:15:21

I know. Well, you can still do that. You can still do that. Yeah. Yeah. But I mean recognizing that

1:15:27

I think it’s also part of you know doing things with integrity you know you know when you say you know what this is

1:15:33

supposed to be joy and this is a great idea but it’s going to take the joy away

1:15:39

from me in a way so you know it would oh and bringing in investors I was just like oh god then they’re just

1:15:45

breathing down your throat and they they have a different agenda they need to make their return on investment and they

1:15:51

need to do it in a certain amount of time and they don’t really care about the soul of astrology hub,

1:15:58

right? Just like exactly, I really want to sign up for that. Is that going to be fun anymore? No. So, I

1:16:03

mean, not today. I don’t I can’t say not ever because maybe I could find an investor that’s like the right person

1:16:11

who gets the vision and who, you know, there’s unicorns exist. I’ve I’ve been surprised, but I just it it didn’t feel

1:16:18

likely at that time. Yeah. Right. Amanda, finally, I mean, I could talk to you forever and I obviously had

1:16:25

a list of questions. So, I hope you come back to talk more about like your chart and the transits as a Capricorn, you

1:16:31

know, maybe another time, but I know it’s been quite some time and you probably have things to do. So, finally,

1:16:37

what dream are you still holding close for yourself or or your family or even

1:16:43

astrology hope that you haven’t yet shared publicly?

1:16:48

M I still dream of meeting more of our

1:16:53

community in person. Oh, whether that’s through events or through

1:17:00

local meetups or I don’t know, like I just I get so much out of meeting the

1:17:05

people in the flesh and like being able to hug people and look them in the eyes. And the times I I’ve gotten to do that

1:17:12

have been amazing. You know, it’s it’s interesting being so far out here in the middle of the ocean. like it’s not the

1:17:18

most convenient thing to travel all the time and do that kind of thing. So, um,

1:17:24

and I really still crave

1:17:32

finding ways to help people bring astrology out of their heads and into

1:17:40

their bodies to experience it alive in their bodies.

1:17:45

Because I think that that’s sometimes we can get really stuck up here and that’s

1:17:51

great and we need the understanding the cerebral understanding. It’s not

1:17:57

wrong but I love I would love to play a part in creating experiences of

1:18:03

astrology. So how that comes to life I have a lot of like ideas but like you know we’ll

1:18:10

see. I was going to say because you have a sunn house. How about retreats or something? Oh my god. I know. I know. It

1:18:16

like seems like a no-brainer. It’s just been every time we go to do it there. It hasn’t been the green light, green

1:18:22

light, green light thing, you know? It hasn’t been just like unfolds and it’s a no-brainer. And I like it when it just unfolds and I know

1:18:27

that we’re like and and often that’s just a matter of timing. Like the same with the book. Like it

1:18:33

took me forever and then all of a sudden Jupiter goes into Gemini and I’m like I’m going to ride that wave. And I

1:18:39

literally wrote the book with Jupiter and Gemini because my Jupiter’s in Gemini and I was like, I’m going to just that’s

1:18:46

that’s my time frame and it worked. It was like so cool to time it with the astrology and like ride a wave.

1:18:52

So, I’ll wait until whenever it’s the right time to do the events. Oh, that would be so cool. Yeah, it I

1:18:57

mean it will happen at some point, I’m sure. Amanda, thanks so much. I mean for

1:19:03

your time and your wisdom and you know the interview took a very different

1:19:09

but it was amazing. I really enjoy it and you know when you let things flow they just turn out the way they need to

1:19:14

be. So thank you so much for sharing your energy energy and your wisdom. And

1:19:21

why would you tell finally uh people that are thinking to

1:19:27

make astrology or to leave out of astrology? You know you are a businesswoman. So, do you have any advice for us

1:19:34

that are, you know, trying to to make something out of astrology in a business way?

1:19:41

Yes. Well, first of all, I think there will only be more and more opportunities. I I see that it’s

1:19:47

continuing to grow as an interest point for people. As we know with the

1:19:52

astrology things are very

1:19:59

up and down for the world and when there’s a lot of uncertainty it’s the time when people need the kind of

1:20:05

guidance that we can offer through astrology even more I you know well it

1:20:10

depends am I talking to people who are giving readings am I talking to people who want to build platforms

1:20:16

both I mean there would be a lot to say to both of those approaches but I love

1:20:23

thinking about how to create win-win opportunities for people. You know, in astrology hub, from the beginning, it

1:20:28

was like, I don’t want to go in and like compete. I’d love to just create

1:20:33

something that’s new and that adds to what’s happening. And I think that’s

1:20:45

always a winning approach of like where can I come in and amplify or expand or

1:20:54

lend something unique. One of the things I’ve been noticing recently is that the astrologers who are blending

1:21:04

astrology with the other things that they’re interested in, whether that’s alchemy or yoga or um you

1:21:11

know, metaphysics or therapy or you know, they’re like they’re blending into

1:21:17

something really uniquely theirs. I’m just noticing that they like seem really

1:21:23

on fire with their careers. They’re they’re inspired to write more, to share more. They’re kind of

1:21:30

in that sweet spot of creation. And so, yeah, I mean, God, and the other thing

1:21:36

is remember like if you’re an astrologer doing readings

1:21:41

and you feel like this word marketing, it’s like for me

1:21:47

the word marketing just means communicating like it’s just communicating. It’s just sharing. But

1:21:54

like if you but if you really don’t like that like maybe like meet that um edge

1:21:59

and just see where how you could do it in a way that feels right for you

1:22:04

because because it’s just like an artist or or

1:22:10

even even a lot of like doctors or you know it’s like it’s a both and like we

1:22:16

it’s the creative part it’s Saturn and Jupiter you know it’s like the expansive part and the like mundane like there is

1:22:23

the mundane day in reality part. So, you know, I’ve taken so many classes to learn how to communicate better, to

1:22:29

share better, to run a business better, to, you know, do all the things because

1:22:34

because we it we always need to be learning too. Yeah. So, there’s there’s the craft. So

1:22:40

there’s like learning the craft and then learning how to communicate about the craft and share about the craft and find

1:22:46

your tribe and you know you I think the more we we share

1:22:51

authentically and in integrity the more the signal goes out to the people that

1:22:57

are attuned to the thing that you have to share. And so that’s a whole process like how do you find that voice? How do

1:23:04

you feel confident in that voice? And there’s so much that’s a big question. You’re so right. I I agree with you with

1:23:10

this last thought. And you know, also I have planets in the 12th house. So certainly it’s not easy to just show

1:23:15

like you know your authentic self just like from one day to the other. It takes time and courage and

1:23:22

a lot of work. No, maybe for other people it’s easier. No, but certainly for 12 house people probably not

1:23:29

so well. I’m like actually surprised that it’s hard for you. Like you seem so natural like it. Absolutely.

1:23:35

Yes. Yeah. So it is it’s that it’s like you found your sweet spot. You like you’re good at asking people questions. You’re

1:23:42

good at probing. You’re good at like you know doing that and eliciting so that then you do that and then maybe someday

1:23:47

you’ll feel comfortable being in another role but it might just take time. Yeah. Wow. Coming from you. Thank you so

1:23:54

much and thank you so much for you guys that you’ve been here and thanks for showing up Amanda again. Thank you so

1:23:59

much. Really hope to have you back to keep talking about your journey, your chart. if you want to share something

1:24:05

with us and all your business advice for us who are, you know, in the astrology community and thanks for creating

1:24:12

astrology hub once again. Oh, it’s my pleasure. Thank you. Thank you guys and see you in the next
